More from the Award Ceremony

A few more pictures from the Award Ceremony:

Rocky Poole, PE teacher

Tom Horne, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, giving the award to Mike Oliver, Principal of Zaharis Elementary

Ready to bury a time capsule...The kids all wrote what it means to them to be healthy and active. They were placed in time capsules and buried in front of the eagle. The kids that are kindergardeners this year will get to dig them up when they are in 6th grade. Hope we don't forget where they were buried!

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds

Kaitlynn and Dylan's elementary school received an award today called "Healthy Bodies/Healthy Minds". It was given for all the work the school is doing to help the kids be active as well as learn. It was a great morning.

This is the banner they received. It will go in the gym for all to enjoy.

Here is the school's namesake, James Kendall Zaharis. I wasn't able to get a good picture of him, but I took what I could.

The 1-3 choir performed 2 of he songs from their concert.

Kaitlynn is waiting with her class for the assembly to begin.

PTO decorated the courtyard for the event with cutouts, balloons, and some writing on the windows!

Just a cute picture

I just love this picture. Shaun rents out derby tracks, and we made shirts with the logo on them. Of course, Cameron's was the best one of all...

Dylan's Choir Concert

Dylan had his first choir concert last night. The theme was "Food". They sang 6 different songs, all of them about different kinds of food. They did really well considering it was a choir of 1st - 3rd graders.

The Program:

Right before the concert began ( that's a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs in the upper left):

A few of the stage decorations:

And here is the last song, Chocolate. Dylan has the 2nd speaking part.

The Official Zimmerman Kids' Easter Picture

Here it is....

It sure is difficult to get all five kids to look at the camera and smile at the same time. James kept making funny smiley faces, so this one was the best of all the choices.

Kindergarten Hoedown

Kaitlynn's class and all the other kindergarten classes got together and did a program about the wild, wild west. One of the teachers wrote the whole thing. It was the cutest thing.

Here's Kaitlynn all dressed up and on stage.

Here's Kaitlynn at home all ready to go.

Happy Easter!

It's Easter morning, and I wanted to be able to share our fun with everyone, so I finally decided to bite the bullet and start a blog. Boy was the Easter Bunny good to the kids this year!

Kaitlynn, James, and Cameron checking out what the Easter Bunny brought.

Doesn't Ashley look excited? (Teenagers....)

Dylan is Checking out his new Magic The Gathering cards.

Ashley and Cameron's baskets before anyone could disturb them.

More Easter baskets as the bunny left them.

Isn't Cameron's dinosaur basket cute? I found it last year after Easter (on clearance, of course) and had to get it to save for him. It even "roars" when you press the button on it's foot!
