Patriot's Day

Zaharis has a school assembly each year on Patriot's Day. This year, both James and Dylan were able to participate in the flag ceremony. Since James was the oldest scout participating, he got to call it, and Dylan was part of the Color Guard.

And one of James singing in the choir. It's a bit over exposed, but the sun was coming up over the building, and I couldn't even see what I was taking!

Another Cameron Pic!

I was working on the computer, and when it got a little too quiet, I had to see what my little man was up to. Much to my surprise, I found he had fallen asleep while playing with the doggy door!

My Little Guitar Hero!

Cameron loves it when someone is playing Guitar Hero on the Wii. He thinks it is his job to help "strum" the guitar, or beat on the drums.

Don't Forget the Fireworks!

For those of you that missed the fireworks (Bethany, Alyssa), here are a few for you!

Happy Fourth of July!

What says 4th of July better than babies and watermelon?

Ashley was trying to ignore the camera. This was about the only shot of her without her looking down and hiding her face.

There were bounces houses, an inflatable slip'n'slide type thing, and this giant obstacle course for the kids.

Follow the dancing baby...

Ok, I'll have more pictures from today, the 4th, tomorrow. Here's one to get you through.

Cameron loves to dance, and as soon as the music started, he was moving!

New- The Monday Mentionables

So, I've decided to feature an artist from Etsy each Monday. This morning, I decided to find a fabulous candle artist. I came across kokocandles who makes food shaped candles! I was most impressed with this one:

Macaroni and Cheese Candle

It totally looks like the real thing!

Some more candles from the shop:

Kaitlynn's New "Upcycled" Skirt

We love taking old clothes, and making something new! Kaitlynn had a pair of jeans with a big hole in the knee, so we made them into a skirt. We used the leg parts we cut off to fill in the gaps where the legs were cut open. The only thing we purchased was the trim, which we got at the dollar store. Total cost=$2!

GratitudesDay!

Ok. I was over at the Heavenly Homemakers blog, and they are hosting GratitudesDay. The question is: What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for many things. I am extremely grateful that my husband has a job in this economy. I am thankful that they is food to eat in my cupboards, and I have a home to prepare it in. I am grateful for my family and friends.
What are you thankful for?

Flowers at Grandma's

While we were up north staying with Grandma and Grandpa T., Kaitlynn took some pictures of the different kinds of flowers she found. Some of the photos were lost due to a corrupt file on my memory card (ahhh, the joys of the digital age), but here are the ones we still have....

Science Camp

In May, James went to science camp with school up near the south rim of the Grand Canyon. He took along the camera to take some pictures. Many of them were of the buildings that were at the camp.

Kindergarten Beach Day!

Every year, just before school is out, the kindergarten classes have their annual Beach Day. It is all set up on their playground, and is a lot of fun.

Under the big playground slide, they set up a pool, and put a hose at the top to make a water slide. Here's Kaitlynn getting ready to go down the slide. Behind her is Sergio, a boy in her class.

And here she is at the bottom!

After they've been playing awhile, there is plenty of wet sand to make moats, sandcastles, and ponds.

The dolphin slide! (that's Brenna down in the corner) There is a line for this slide the whole time they are outside.

After they spent the morning "at the beach" they went inside for lunch and a movie ("Finding Nemo, of course).
